The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP responded to 63 calls to service between Friday, May 30, and Thursday, June 5.

911 calls

Four 911 calls were received by the RCMP ranging from a child playing with the phone in the Kisbey area, a cow standing near the road by Carlyle, a business misdial from Carlyle, and a static line from a business in Wawota which RCMP believe was caused by an issue with Sasktel's lines.

Abandoned vehicle

An abandoned vehicle was located near Redvers. Owners of the vehicle were contacted and they responded by letting members know they were working on having it moved after the vehicle broke down.

Animal calls

There was a report of a dog bite in Wawota. Members are currently investigating the incident.

A complaint of dogs in Wawota was reported, but the individual refused to lay charges.

Assistance

Members were asked to check on an individual in Arcola. The person had been unwell. When RCMP arrived they discovered the individual had already been taken to the hospital.

Assistance was given to an individual in the Carlyle area who was having issues at their grandmother's house, so they were taken to another residence.

There was a complaint received about someone dumping poisonous water on an individual's land. RCMP redirected the caller to take up the issue with the Water Security Agency.

Assistance was given to Saskatoon City Police when an individual in Saskatoon reported their identification as having been stolen and they are now receiving bills.

A criminal harassment call is currently under investigation.

RCMP received a request to locate a 15-year-old female in the Carlyle area. The youth was later found at a friend's house.

There was a runaway 14-year-old male in the Carlyle area. He was located and taken back to another individual's home.

Driving infractions

There was a report of a dangerous driver in the area. The vehicle was located, but the complainant didn't want to lay charges.

An impaired driver was caught north of Lampman. The 45-year-old male refused to provide a breath sample, so was subsequently charged.

Reported to RCMP was the possibility of an impaired driver on Hwy 9. The vehicle was located, but it was parked and RCMP couldn't confirm who had been driving.

A possibly impaired driver was reported in the Carlyle area, but this vehicle was also parked so RCMP could not be sure who had been driving the vehicle.

Another report of a possibly impaired driver was received. This vehicle was not located.

A ticket for open liquor in a vehicle was given to a 21-year-old male in Arcola. The fine for this is $360.

Members issued a warning to a 38-year-old male who was towing a trailer without the registration certificate on them.

There was a 25-year-old male stopped who was fined $580 for having an unregistered vehicle. Later in the week a 21-year-old female was also ticketed with this offence.

An erratic driver was reported along Hwy 13 near Antler. RCMP contacted members in Manitoba as the vehicle was in the eastbound lane.

Speeding tickets were issued to eight drivers. A 45-year-old female was stopped near Redvers and fined $137; a 39-year-old female was ticketed $130 near Carlyle; a 40-year-old male was fined $150 near Carlyle; a 21-year-old male was fined $133 near Carlyle; a 38-year-old male was charged $140 near Carlyle; a 50-year-old male was fined $136 near Arcola; a 34-year-old male was ticketed $137 near Arcola; a 26-year-old male was fined $137 near Arcola; and a 57-year-old male was charged $134 for speeding near Arcola.

Four seatbelt tickets were given out during this time: one was to a 50-year-old male, a 22-year-old male, a 33-year-old male, and a 21-year-old male. Tickets for not wearing a seatbelt are $175.

There was a complaint of an erratic driver near Carlyle on Hwy 13. The vehicle was located, but the caller declined to lay charges.

An individual was caught stunting on Hwy 9 near Carlyle and was fined $150.

Disturbing the peace

An individual in Carlyle at the Dairy Queen was reportedly disturbing the peace by asking people for money. The individual was spoken to and left the business.

RCMP were also called in Carlyle when someone accused another person of stealing something. The former individual simply wished for the latter to leave.

A third call for disturbing the peace was received by the RCMP. A hot tub party in Wawota had gotten too loud.

Hit and runs

A possible hit and run was reported at Gordon F. Kells High School where a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu was damaged.

Another hit and run was reported in Carlyle. This time it occurred at the corner of Hwy 9 and Hwy 13. A dark coloured car hit a 2005 Ford Freestar, white in colour, and drove off.

A red 2005 GMC Yukon was also damaged in a hit and run in Carlyle.

Mischief

Two mischief calls were received by RCMP. The first was in Manor where someone had said rude comments to another person; this is currently under investigation. The second call was near Bellegarde where a couple who had divorced were having issues and the caller was referred to their lawyer in dealing with the matter.

Theft

Theft of a car hauling trailer was reported in Manor. This matter remains under investigation.

Another theft was reported during this time. A 22-year-old female had taken a bicycle from a 14-year-old female in the Carlyle area. The 22-year-old was charged with driving over 0.08, impaired operation, and driving while suspended. The bicycle was returned to the owner.

Theft of gas was reported in Redvers, but the individuals reporting the incident were unable to provide RCMP with a plate number or the direction of travel the vehicle headed in.

Reported from the Carlyle area was a case of sexual assault. This matter remains under investigation.

A report in Manor of sexual interference is also currently under investigation.

Other calls to service

Reports of a possibly suicidal individual in the Carlyle area were received. RCMP checked on the individual who was found to be fine.

A warrant was issued for a 22-year-old male who failed to attend court on Wednesday, June 4.

There was a suspicious person reported near Kenosee Lake, but it was found to be false.

A single vehicle rollover occurred near Forget. RCMP are currently investigating this matter.

A report of uttering threats was reported from Arcola, but the individual accused of uttering the threats is 8-years-old and cannot be charged with this offence.

There was an alarm in Arcola which was checked by RCMP. Someone may have bumped the panic button as all was well.

A complaint of a harassing phone call in the Carlyle area is currently being investigated.

There was a report of a possibly intoxicated youth in the Carlyle area who had been walking around. The individual's mother had taken them home.

The RCMP dealt with two breaches of undertaking during this time. Both involved people violating their conditions.
