The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP received 73 calls to service throughout the week of June 27 and July 3.

911

Two separate 911 calls with static lines were received. One was to an empty lot and another to a cottage, both at Moose Mountain Provincial Park. Occurring on Saturday, June 28, it is thought that heavy rainfall was the cause.

Someone referred to 911 to let RCMP know that the Redvers campground along Hwy 13 would be closing due to rainfall.

In Redvers 911 was called when an individual left a business without paying for their gas. The subject later returned and paid.

Originating in Manor was a call, which was due to a grandchild playing with the phone. There was no emergency.

A 911 call came in from east of Redvers. An individual drove into a ditch, got out of their vehicle, and the water then carried it away. Two calls were received when passersby saw the vehicle bobbing in the water. The owner was contacted and they explained what had happened and that no one was injured.

Abandoned vehicle

An abandoned vehicle was reported southwest of Redvers at a rural location. The vehicle was parked on the roadside and the interior was burnt. The owner was contacted and aware of the situation. It is believed to have been the result of an electrical short.

Animal calls

Cattle were reported as being out east of Redvers. RCMP attended and were unable to find the animals.

A black cow was reported in a ditch near town. The owner was notified.

In Wawota there was a complaint of a dog injuring another dog. The owners addressed the matter, but it was reported to RCMP for information purposes.

Assistance

Two separate instances of power poles snapping in the Redvers area were reported. These matters were referred to SaskPower.

In Arcola a woman requested RCMP to accompany her in reclaiming property from a residence.

An individual in Redvers called RCMP. She was fine, but was concerned about the flooding in the area.

A call regarding a downed tree along Souris Ave. and 3rd Street was reported. RCMP contacted the town to take care of the hazard.

Information from Redvers regarding rising water was passed on to Storthoaks to make them aware of what would be heading down the river.

There was a request for information regarding Hwy 8, north of Redvers, and if it was safe to travel on it. RCMP recommended no travel until the water subsides.

Assistance was given in the Carlyle area in retrieving property.

In Arcola a request to locate someone from the health care centre was required. The individual was found at their home.

Information was called into RCMP regarding water over a road north of Storthoaks.

Breach of the peace

Two people in the Carlyle area were yelling and screaming at each other in a heated argument. Members attended.

Intoxicated individuals were yelling and screaming. The subject causing issue in the home left prior to RCMP arrival.

In Manor intoxicated individuals were possibly in a fight. This matter is under investigation.

Traffic infractions and complaints

A dangerous driver was reported near Antler where a vehicle swerved towards a dog on the road.

An erratic driver was reported near Arcola. The driver was drifting across the centre line and then towards the ditch. Patrols were made but the vehicle was not located.

Request for a traffic control at Kenosee Lake during the fireworks show on July 1 was called into RCMP. Members attended.

An erratic driver was reported in the Carlyle area, but RCMP were unable to locate it and had been given an incorrect licence plate number.

Two speeding tickets were issued during this time. A 20-year-old female received a ticket for $184, while a 19-year-old female was fined $137.

Requests were made to monitor Hwy 9 north through the 80km/hr zone. Due to the redirecting of traffic there was more traffic on the road and many were not obeying the posted speed limit.

An erratic driver was reported on Hwy 13 near Arcola. A licence plate number was given, but it didn't match the vehicle being driven. RCMP were unable to locate the vehicle.

Another erratic driver near Arcola was reported along Hwy 13. The vehicle was said to be all over the road, but RCMP were unable to find the subject of the complaint.

For passing a vehicle when unsafe a 20-year-old male was fined $125.

Near Redvers there was a report of a vehicle having been left in a ditch. The owner was contacted and later returned for the vehicle.

Concerns were voiced about vehicles utilizing a bridge near Antler after the Department of Highways closed it.

A vehicle broke down along Hwy 13 near Manor. A tow truck was arranged to pick up the vehicle by the truck driver.

Near Wawota a driver had left his trailer and boat alongside the shoulder of the road because there was no more tread left on a tire. The driver reported it to RCMP for information purposes.

Alcohol related calls

A 44-year-old female refused to provide a breath sample in the Carlyle area.

A possible impaired driver was reported in the Carlyle area, but long after the driver had been on the road.

Another possibly impaired driver was reported in the Carlyle area, but the driver was not located.

A 43-year-old male was given a liquor ticket near Kisbey for $200. Related to this were two complaints of suspicious persons near Kisbey where one intoxicated individual was laying on the shoulder of the road. One was arrested and two were given a ride home.

In the Carlyle area a complaint arose of an individual walking around with a knife. The individual was located, there was no knife, and the person was given a ride home.

One of the local hotel's in the area reported a subject having passed out at the front door of the hotel. The subject was picked up by RCMP and lodged for the night until sober.

An intoxicated individual in the Carlyle area was at a residence wanting to fight. The person was located, removed, and transported home. The complainant did not want to pursue charges.

There was an intoxicated individual returning home who was causing issues. They then left the house and RCMP were asked to find them although there were no concerns about the individuals safety.

Mischief

Two separate calls of the same nature were reported. Both were in the Carlyle area and involved individuals who would not leave the residence they were in. Prior to police arrival in each instance the subject had left.

Damage to a sign at Kenosee Lake was reported. The individuals who caused the damage returned later to pay for costs. No RCMP involvement was required.

In Redvers an individual threw a rock through a business's window. This matter is currently under investigation.

A case of public mischief arose when a complainant accounted very different circumstances than what had happened. The investigator chose not to lay charges.

False alarms

An unknown cause triggered an alarm at a business at Kenosee Lake.

Two calls to the same business in Redvers were reported. These false alarms are thought to be caused by mice.

There was a false alarm to a business in Carlyle, which is thought to have been triggered by the weather.

Motor vehicle collisions

A fatal motor vehicle accident occurred near Arcola. A 25-year-old male was deceased at the scene. The matter is under investigation.

There was a traffic collision at Kenosee Lake involving a moose. The driver was uninjured.

A collision with a moose in the White Bear area occurred; this driver is also sustained no injuries.

Near Carlyle was a traffic collision between two vehicles. Mechanical failure in one vehicle is suspected for why it struck another vehicle.

A single vehicle rollover occurred in a ditch with water near Antler. No injuries to the driver were found.

Uttering threats

In Arcola a complainant reported threats being uttered but declined to press charges.

A second call originating in Arcola regarding the utterances of threats was reported and in this matter a 32-year-old male was charged.

Other calls to service

An assault in Manor is currently under investigation.

A break and entering was reported in the Carlyle area and is currently under investigation.

There was a reported breach of court order in Arcola, the matter remains under investigation.

An 18-year-old female and a 13-year-old male failed to attend court in Carlyle.

Near Walpole a grass fire was reported. Wawota Fire took care of the situation and did not require assistance.

A stolen licence plate was reported from near Kisbey. The Saskatchewan plate number taken was 245 HLU.
