The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to 69 calls to service between the week of July 4 to 10.
911
Three 911 calls were received during this time. The first was to the Redvers hospital, although RCMP are unsure where it originated from within the hospital. The second came from Carlyle where a misdial took place. The third involved a collision between two vehicles near Forget, no one was injured.
Abandoned vehicle
Two abandoned vehicles were addressed; the first was near Carlyle along Hwy 9 while the second was along Hwy 13 near Arcola.
Assistance
Assistance was given to Regina Police Services in executing a warrant for them.
In Redvers a dispute erupted between a landlord and tenant. They were referred to the rentalsman office.
In two separate cases RCMP provided assistance to individuals who had ignored detour signs on both sides of Redvers. Alternate routes were given to the drivers.
An individual from Redvers called inquiring about the Firearms Act as they were looking into transporting firearms.
There was a wallet found which belonged to an individual in Carlyle. The wallet was returned to its owner.
RCMP gave assistance to EMS with three matters relating to mental health calls. These calls originated in Kisbey, in the Kisbey area, and in the Carlyle area.
RCMP were asked to locate a 50-year-old man in the Carlyle area. The subject was found.
Break and enter
A possible break and enter occurred at a cabin in the Carlyle area.
Two males aged 22 and 17 were charged in relation to two different cabin break and enters in the Carlyle area.
Alcohol was taken from a cabin in the Carlyle area and the matter is still under investigation.
Collision
A collision report from February was filed and is under investigation.
There was a report of a traffic collision near Arcola where a vehicle went into the ditch. The driver lost control of the vehicle after attempting to avoid gravel on the highway and got caught on the shoulder of the ditch. The vehicle then rolled into a slough. There were no injuries.
At Moose Mountain Provincial Park there was a single vehicle rollover. No one was injured, but an 18-year-old male was charged with stunting.
Along Hwy 9 there was a collision between a vehicle and a moose. The driver was uninjured.
There was a collision reported near Kisbey between a pick up and a semi-tractor trailer unit. No one was injured and no charges laid.
At Kenosee Lake there was a minor collision between a vehicle and a building. No one was injured and minimal damage was done to both the car and the building.
Disturbing the peace
Breach of the peace in the Carlyle area occurred when an intoxicated individual became aggressive. The individual went to sleep and when RCMP arrived the person was passed out. No further issues arose.
An individual near Kisbey was causing a disturbance. Alcohol was involved, but no charges were laid.
There were reports of an intoxicated individual in the Carlyle area and concerns for their safety were voiced. It was found the individual was at home with someone who was sober and the intoxicated individual was fine.
Driving infractions
An erratic driver was charged with undue care and attention. The 27-year-old male was also charged with failing to report an accident.
There was an impaired driver in Manor that was stopped by the public. RCMP were called and the individual was not allowed to drive by those that had stopped the driver. No charges were laid, but RCMP did arrive and take the individual back to cells to be lodged for the night.
A possibly impaired driver in the Carlyle area was reported. No licence plate number was acquired and members were unable to attend due to another call they were on.
Two speeding tickets were issued during this time: one was to a 24-year-old male with a $132 fine and the other was to a 20-year-old male who was ticketed $186.
A speeding vehicle was reported along Hwy 9, but it was not located.
RCMP stopped a 20-year-old male who was operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
An erratic driver with loud music was complained about in the Carlyle area. The complainant declined to lay a charge.
Another erratic driver was reported south of Carlyle heading to Alameda, but was not located by RCMP.
Currently under investigation are three cases of vehicles not stopping or almost hitting a highways flag person along Hwy 9 north of Carlyle.
A dangerous driver was reported between Carlyle and White Bear, but they were going too fast for the caller to get a plate number.
Mischief
Damage was reported to a fence near Arcola and the matter is under investigation.
A report of damage to trees in a yard in Kisbey was reported. RCMP feel the damage was caused by a quad.
Garbage was left on a vacant lot in Carlyle and remains under investigation.
Suspicious persons/vehicles
A report of a suspicious vehicle near Redvers was called in. There was a car parked at an oil site, upon investigation it was found the vehicle belonged to a driver at the oil site.
There was a suspicious vehicle in Carlyle. While the complainant was on the phone with RCMP the vehicle drove away.
A suspicious person was reported as attempting to hitch a ride along Hwy 9. Members patrolled but the individual was gone.
There was a suspicious person in the Carlyle area. Patrols were made, but the individual was not found.
Along Hwy 13 a person was reportedly lying in the road. No one was found.
There was a suspicious person reported in Redvers, but no one was located.
Theft
There was a theft of a phone and the complainant declined to lay charges.
In Carlyle there was a report of a dog theft. This matter was determined to be a domestic dispute and a civil matter.
Reported in Carlyle was a theft of gas which is currently under investigation.
A report of theft of an iPad in Carlyle was called in and is under investigation.
In Manor a report of an individual taking off with vehicle keys was reported. The matter remains under investigation.
A report of gas theft from a business in Arcola was called in.
Also in Arcola there was a call regarding the theft of a red, black, and white side-by-side Polaris Razor.
Other calls to service
Near Kisbey there was a complaint of cattle out. They were found along the shoulder of the road encroaching on the highway. The animals were reclaimed by their owner.
A 33-year-old female was charged with assault in an altercation along Hwy 13.
A false alarm to a business in Redvers was investigated but the cause of the alarm is unknown.
Three individuals had their fingerprints taken for criminal record checks.
An individual reported their vehicle as having been sprayed by a crop duster. Through speaking with the driver it was determined that it was due to blowing wind.
Harassing phone calls were received by an individual in the Carlyle area. The caller was cautioned and there have been no other related reports.
Report of criminal harassment was called into RCMP, but the victim declined to pursue charges.
An iPhone was lost near Food World in Carlyle.
Two reports of sexual assaults were reported. One is under investigation, while the other was referred to another police service since it occurred somewhere else.
