The town council of Stoughton gave approval to several requests, during the May and June meetings. Building permits were approved for Goodison Holdings, for a residential building at 112 Markov Place, and for Gibson Welding, for a commercial building located at Jacobs subdivision. Approval was given for a proposed subdivision by Krystal Giroux for two lots on the west side of Assiniboia. All these approvals by town council are subject to the building officials recommendations.The town administrator has been given authorization to apply for the Mosquito Grant.Council will contact the Department of Highways to move the speed reduction sign further north, outside of the town limits from its present location of Richardson Avenue on Highway 47.The paving program in Stoughton will be extended to include Assiniboia Avenue from Main Street to Donnelly Street in the amount of $44,660 and Assiniboia Avenue from Donnelly Street to Highway 47 in the amount of $45,210.A request was made to place a granite marker as a memorial for Keith Lough to be approved. Another memorial plaque was approved for purchase, to acknowledge the generosity of the Kasdorf family. This plaque was dedicated on Canada Day in Taylor Memorial Park.The town of Stoughton shall be transferring their bank accounts from the CIBC to the Stoughton Credit Union due to increased costs of service fees.Town council accepted the quote to print tourism flyers submitted by the Weyburn Review in the amount of $992.00 plus tax for 2.000 flyers. The SaskPower Easement was signed for the street lights to be placed at McLean Industrial Drive.A letter requesting the "Boil Water" warning be removed was read by Town Council. In addition, the GUDI test results, completed by Beckie Hydrologists, will be sent to Brent Wilson, Environment Officer, Saskatchewan. The waiver and release form for sale proceeds for the residential doctor house in the town of Fillmore were signed. Town council also approved six partially serviced sights at the Stoughton Campground to have sewer services installed, so that all sights are full service sights.
