REGINA - One of the two men accused in the death of an Oxbow woman last year has been granted bail for his latest charges.

Tyler Neil Shaw of Gainsborough had a show-cause hearing April 23 in Regina Provincial Court. Bail was approved and he was released from custody with conditions.

Shaw was out on conditions in connection with the death of Briana Hayes when he was arrested in late March 2025 for driving while over .08 and impaired driving. He was also charged with multiple counts of violating the conditions of his release order. A show-cause hearing was supposed to happen April 18 in Regina, but it was postponed.

He is scheduled to make his next court appearance May 12 in Estevan.

Shaw was previously charged with one count of being an accessory to murder after the fact in Hayes' death.

Background: On April 24, 2024, the Carlyle RCMP received a report of a possible homicide. The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit took control of the investigation. Hayes' body was found April 25 in a rural location in the RM of Moose Mountain.

Shaw was arrested and charged the same day, while Taylor Japp of Oxbow was charged with second-degree murder April 26.

A preliminary hearing for Japp is set for June 2 in Carlyle. He remains out on conditions. The hearing will determine whether Japp's case will proceed to trial.
