Stoughton School welcomes students back-to-school

On Sept. 5 the weather provided a wonderful backdrop as students and parents gathered at the Stoughton School for their annual back-to-school barbecue.

On Sept. 5 the weather provided a wonderful backdrop as students and parents gathered at the Stoughton School for their annual back-to-school barbecue. The evening was well attended, combining the back-to-school celebration and an open house, showcasing the Stoughton Playschool, Stoughton Library, Early Learning and Care, guitar and fiddle teachers Donna and Morgan Turk, Stoughton Early Learning Facility (SELF), Girl Guides, Horse Club, Crossroads Multiple 4-H Club, Stoughton Swimming Pool and the School Community Council.

The SCC consists of staff and student representation, community members, and parents, meeting about once a month throughout the school year to identify needs within the school and ways to meet those needs. They fundraise to add to the school, acknowledging and encouraging their students and staff along the way.

Royal Tank Cleaners sponsored the burgers, while the Stoughton Credit Union was a food sponsor.  There were many donations of raffle prizes from Precision Ag Inc., Stoughton Meat Market, Trican, Stoughton Veterinary Clinic, Poplar Tree Inn, Stoughton Feed Processing, Farrell Agencies, Newhope Pharmacy, Pat’s Auto, PureBliss Nails & Esthetic,; Adams Oilfield Consulting Ltd., Hemphill Trenching, Minards Leisure World, Herr Kutz, Cavalier Auto Body – NAPA, The Happy Nun Café, W.H. Coderre Construction, Stoughton Co-op, Cutting Edge Hairstyling, Mustang Vac, Hemphill Project Management Ltd., Jolene Martin – Tupperware and Karla Gervais – Pampered Chef.
