鶹Ƶeast Regional Library is going through several changes.

“It’s not the library you remember” is their tagline. The focus is to create accessible space in communities, with books being only one of the options. The focus is on programs, interactive displays, community outreach, technology, community celebrations, online resources and then, of course books.

A very important point people should be aware of is the value of a library.

Had everyone purchased, as opposed to borrowing books at the local library in Carlyle, the total cost to purchase these books would have been over $103,000.

The library is open 25 hours a week.

Come January the hours will expand to 30 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday.

Coming events and programs at the library include retired navy officer; Gord Hunter, who will be reading from his book “No - Badge Kitlock” on Oct. 22 at 1:30 p.m.

Please feel welcome to contact the new librarian, Jenn Sedor, for any information or inquiries, phone 306-453-6120. Also be sure to check Facebook or drop into the library if you are needing information on any services provided. Coffee is available for a small donation, so please come in and make yourself comfortable.
