REGINA — Wayne Gramracy had to check his LOTTO 6/49 ticket a few times before realizing he won $1 million on the Sept.11 draw.

“At first, I couldn’t count all the zeroes,” he said while claiming his prize. “I had to scan the ticket maybe five or six times before I could count them all.”

The winner said it wasn’t just the counting that was throwing him off. There was also a second message that kept coming up on the self-scanner screen.

“The big number would come up and scroll to a message telling me I won five Free Plays,” he laughed. “When I figured out what I won, I kept thinking, “I won a million dollars, why do you bother with the Free Plays?!’”

The happy winner has a couple of ideas for his windfall, including purchasing a new truck and investing.

“I do need a new truck,” he said. “I’ll put some of the money into investments for the future. The rest is spending money!”

Gramracy purchased his winning ticket the day before the draw at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 428 Lillooet St.West in Moose Jaw. He returned to the store the day after the draw to check his ticket. His winning selection exactly matched the Sept.11 Guaranteed Prize draw number – 24198381-05.
