David Danchilla will put some of his winnings toward his wedding.

David Danchilla was stunned when he scanned his LOTTO MAX ticket for the June 22 draw and discovered he was $411,859.70 richer!

Danchilla purchased his ticket at the 7-Eleven Store located at 1210-13th Ave. NW in Moose Jaw. He returned to the store the day after the Tuesday draw to check his ticket.

“When I first saw the amount on the screen I couldn’t believe it,” he said while claiming his prize at the Regina prize office. “I think I was in shock. “Honestly, I think I was in shock for about three days after checking the ticket,” he laughed.

The happy winner said he has two plans for his winnings: investing and paying for a very special day.

“My partner and I have been together for over 34 years,” he said. “We have been planning our wedding for a while now, so some of the money will go toward our wedding day. It’s going to be quite the party, that’s for sure!"

“We also want to be responsible,” he continued. “So, we’re going to invest a large chunk of it as well.”

Danchilla won his prize by matching all but one of the seven main draw numbers and the bonus number on the June 22 draw – 7, 11, 22, 28, 33, 44, 49 and the bonus, 10. He shared LOTTO MAX’s second-top prize with another ticket purchased in Edmonton, Alta.
