The final event for Weyburn Rider Nation's campaign to have Weyburn declared "Riderville" was held on Main Street on June 5. Weyburn's Main Street, or downtown Third Street, was dedicated "Riderville Road" during a celebration that highlighted the Weyburn Rider Nation (WRN) anthem, written by Megan Leach and Wilf Dieter.The footage taken at the road dedication will be the final footage used in WRN's video submission for the Saskatchewan Roughriders "Where is Riderville?" contest, launched in honour of the organizations 100th year. After the submission deadline of June 15, the Riderville selection committee will choose five finalists and online voting will be open to the public to choose which community will receive "Riderville" status.The winning community will receive $25,000 for minor sports and a full-day football and cheerleading camp. The winner will be announced at the Labour Day football game.
The finalist communities will receive $2,500 for their minor sports programs.WRN will continue to promote Rider Pride in Weyburn by rewarding fans wearing green and white on Fridays with prizes. They are also selling WRN gear and CDs featuring the WRN theme song.
