Photos: Fire destroys Super 6 Motel in Estevan, no injuries reported

The Estevan firefighters were called out to a structure fire on Dec. 22 at about 10:45 p.m.

ESTEVAN — A large structure fire occurred at the old Super 6 Motel on Highway 39 West in Estevan at night on Dec. 22-23.

The Estevan Fire Rescue Service was called out to a structure fire on Dec. 22 at about 10:45 p.m. Once crews arrived on scene, they confirmed a structure fire and began battling it.

Firefighters remained on scene throughout the night.

No injuries were reported from the incident.

Estevan Deputy Fire Chief Kyle Luc said the fire is currently under investigation and no further information could be released at this time.

Eighteen Estevan firefighters were involved in battling the blaze, that severely damaged the building.

Estevan Police Service and Estevan RCMP were also on scene.

Earlier last week, firefighters were also called to a residential fire alarm on the east side of the city on Dec. 16. Crews were soon notified that their assistance was not required.
