Frosty Fest Lampman

A fun family event was hosted at Lampman School on Thursday, Dec. 15, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for kids to enjoy a day of activities. Although it’s been planned for a while, the Frosty Fest Carnival was hosted at the perfect time, giving youth a place to burn some energy inside, escaping the extremely cold weather outside that southeast Saskatchewan was seeing.

A community effort, the event was run by Lampman School, their School Community Council, their local Lions Club, and Lampman’s Town and Recreation.

Carnival activities were hosted in the gymnasium including a fish pond, pillow fight, ring toss, cake walk, caroling, cookie decorating, crafts, a bean bag throw, candy cane fishing, and more.

For those willing to brave the cold, hockey was played outside, with visiting members of the RCMP partaking.

The event also encouraged families to participate in a winter clothing swap – “donate what you can and take what you need.”

In addition a bake sale, free hot chocolate, a lucky numbers auction, and a Santa visit were all part of the entertaining afternoon.
