聽 聽 聽 聽 聽King鈥檚 Department Store was a busy place during the Dickens weekend. The store ran many specials and also hosted area musicians.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Friday and Saturday evenings after the parade, everyone was treated to hot chocolate and entered into a draw for free merchandise, the winner, who had to be present, got to pick any item in the store of value up to $100.00.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The entertainers, who were set up in the shoe department at the back of the store, enlivened the customers as they warmed on hot chocolate. Through the two days there were 10 different artists. The musicians proved to be as great as the in-store specials.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Wendy Kimber from Oxbow was asked, 鈥淲hat is your highlight of the Festival?鈥�
鈥淭he Drama, looking in all the shops and looking forward to the parade.鈥�
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Donna Nyeste is also from Oxbow and she has attended Dickens half a dozen times. When asked, 鈥淲hat is your highlight?鈥�, her response was, 鈥淭he play and the tea is always fun. The weather is wonderful.鈥�
