We are excited to have Missoula Children鈥檚 Theatre coming to Carlyle! 聽The Missoula team will be here October 28th - November 1st to work with our students in the production of 鈥淛ack and the Beanstalk.鈥澛� There are roles for students Kindergarten through Grade 12.聽 Stay tuned for more information.
The high school is doing the community birthday calendar again this year.聽They are $20.00 per calendar.聽The funds from this endeavor will be used the fund 鈥渙ut of classroom鈥� learning for the students. This is what we did last year:聽Grade 11/12鈥檚 鈥� the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg/聽 Grade 10鈥檚 鈥� Camping at Big Muddy/ Grade 9鈥檚 鈥� skiing at Asessippi/ Grade 7/8鈥檚 聽- camping at Kenosee. Last week reminders about bus back-up plans appeared in this column. This week are reminders about bus responsibilities. Parent Responsibilities: To inform the driver when their child or children will not require bus service. To ensure their child or children are ready to board the bus at the appropriate pick-up time. To ensure their child or children are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. To arrange billets for their child or children in the event of severe weather, and ensure the school has this information. To promote good conduct by their child or children on the bus. Student Responsibilities:Show respect to the driver and to understand the driver is in charge at all times while they are on the bus. Abide by the bus driver seating assignments. Observe the instructions and directions given by the driver when boarding or exiting the bus. No student is to attempt to board or exit the bus while it is in motion. Remain in their seats while the bus is in motion. Be ready to board the bus at the appointed pick-up locations/times both before and after school. The use of tobacco products, alcohol and non-medical drugs are prohibited on the bus. Profanity is not permitted.
Fitness club in the high school gym is open to all students and all levels of fitness are welcome. Fitness club runs from September to June every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:45 鈥� 8:30AM. Get your day started right with some movement!
GFK is looking for basketball coaches. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Trent Johnson or Mr. Colin Wilson at the school (453-2500).
Remember, the School Community Council meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 P.M. in the school library. If you want to know what is going on at the school or have questions, please plan to attend.聽 Your participation is necessary for our school鈥檚 success. (October鈥檚 General Meeting will be held instead on Wed. Oct. 16.)

Practices run almost every Monday and Wednesday and tournaments are slotted in for Norquay, Stoughton, Estevan, Oxbow, Rocanville, Gravelbourg and Davidson.
