CARLYLE - A decorating contest was held in Carlyle as part of the Dickens Village Festival.
Carlyle District Lions Club members Shiela Menard, Dennis Feduk, George Anderson and Gord Paulley served as judges and made their evaluations on Nov. 30.
Terry and Laurie Fornwald won first overall for their building at the corner of Fourth Street East and Carlyle Avenue. Wendy's Day Home, operated by Wendy Marcotte and located on First Street West, won the award for top business.
Harold and Carol Ann Smith finished first in the traditional category for their building on Fourth Street East. Brian and Michelle Romaniuk on Ruckle Road won first place for novelty.
