In terms of hockey, Carlyle's upcoming hockey registration shouldn't be the only thing on the minds of parents. Chevrolet Canada is once again ensuring that children have access to hockey helmets in order to help keep them safe on the ice.
The Hockey Helmet Program, which launched on Aug. 19, is designed for five-year-old children or specifically, those born in 2006. The program outfits those children who register to play hockey with Hockey Canada during the 2011/2012 season with a free Bauer youth hockey helmet.
The reason why Chevrolet has targeted this age group is because "most players registering for organized hockey for the first time are 5 years of age. Chevrolet wants to ensure that these first time players have a Safe and Fun introduction to the sport of hockey."
Each child is eligible for one helmet. The Bauer 2100 Helmet Combo Jr. is designed to be adjustable and fit children aged five to eight.
In order to be eligible for the program, your local minor hockey association must be a member of one of the 13 branches. In order to determine whether your association is eligible, Chevrolet recommends contacting your local association to confirm.
It is up to individual parents to register for the helmet program. In order to do so, you must register for the program by visiting their website. Once that is accomplished, you will receive an email with information that details the remainder of the process. This includes printing the confirmation e-mail and redemption form, as well as visiting a local dealership to provide verification of your child's age and proof of registration with your local hockey association.

By providing new and safe equipment, the Chevrolet Canada Hockey Helmet Program will help these young players learn that safe hockey is fun hockey."
