CF Sunrise celebrating regional success stories

Community Futures (CF) Sunrise is celebrating Saskatchewan Economic Development Week from May 9-15 by highlighting some of the many contributions of economic development within the southeast region.

Community Futures (CF) Sunrise is celebrating Saskatchewan Economic Development Week from May 9-15 by highlighting some of the many contributions of economic development within the southeast region.聽

鈥溌槎故悠礶ast Saskatchewan is full of communities, community economic development officers, economic development committees, business groups and organizations who are committed to making our region an attractive place for business development,鈥 said Christina Birch, regional economic development co-ordinator for CF Sunrise.聽

鈥淲e will be spending the week celebrating these efforts, whether they be related to business development and retention, the creation of regional partnerships, the enhancement of quality of life, or the support of businesses through training and financial support 鈥 all of which play a key role in economic development.鈥澛

CF Sunrise held their quarterly 麻豆视频east Saskatchewan Economic Development Practitioner meeting on May 11. Hosted by CF Sunrise since 2019, community economic development officers will come together from throughout southeast Saskatchewan to discuss economic development within the region.聽

鈥淩egional collaboration is an important component for achieving economic outcomes,鈥 said Birch. 鈥淲e have an amazing group of economic development officers within the region, all of whom work tirelessly to make a difference within our communities. The opportunities that exist for our region when we bring these individuals together are endless.鈥澛

The group meets to discuss regional opportunities and challenges, learn lessons from one another and hear experts speak on key issues that impact southeast Saskatchewan.聽

CF Sunrise provides a number of supports to municipalities for economic development within the region, something that has been made possible through funding from the Canada Coal Transition Initiative (CCTI). This includes supports as it relates to business retention and expansion, business investment and attraction, as well as community promotion and marketing.聽
