Another Odd Job Challenge was won by the Service Canada office in Weyburn, after they had more jobs filled in one day than the Service Canada office in Estevan. The odd job challenge was held on July 27 by Service Canada employees Tom Broccolo and Megan Roelfsema, who went door to door handing out flyers.All day Service Canada promoted the competition through the radio and posters. We did quite good, the morning was very busy. We had kids in and out of the office all day filling 10 positions, beating Estevan in the challenge, said Broccolo.Having the odd job challenge brought a lot more interest from youth and employers to the Service Canada office. A variety of odd jobs were called into the office through out the day.Now with one challenge out of the way, the Odd Job Squad has a new one that they would like to complete. The Weyburn Rider Nation Committee has challenged residents in the community to decorate or paint the windows of their houses. The Odd Job Squad is available to residents to do that decorating, said Broccolo.The Odd Job Squad will end on August 11 with a party at Service Canada to wrap up the summer for all members.
