WEYBURN – A 31-year-old B.C. man will appear in court on Thursday, July 7, on a bail hearing after being charged with trafficking of cocaine, resulting from a search of a Weyburn residence on June 30.

The Weyburn Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, with support from the Estevan Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, the Joint Tactical Support Team, and Weyburn Police Service patrol members, executed a search warrant on a residence in Weyburn on June 30.

A 31-year-old B.C. man, Raymond Chan, was found in the home and was arrested. In the search of the Weyburn home, police found over half a kilogram of cocaine with a street value of $86,000 and over $1,000 in cash.

That same evening, a CDSA warrant related to the same investigation was executed on a residence in Estevan, resulting in another adult male from B.C. being arrested and charged.

Chan made his first court appearance in Estevan provincial court on Monday morning, and was remanded in custody to July 7 for a show-cause hearing to determine if he should be released from custody.
