Spruce Ridge School's Kick-Off to Christmas Carnival saw many families having fun by the school yesterday.

On Dec. 11, from 1-4 p.m., first responders are going to be out by Canadian Tire in Estevan, accepting toy donations to help the Community Hamper Association鈥檚 Angel Tree campaign.

Money will be used for renovations

The family had safely evacuated the building upon the firefighters' arrival and were waiting in their vehicle.

Academy members are on the ice twice a week

"Just plan a safe ride home. It's not that difficult. There are enough taxis. If the weather's nice, walk home, or make that advance planning before you even plan on going out for a Christmas party, figure out who's going to be the sober driver in that situation. Always plan a safe ride home. That's my message. Don't drive impaired," Estevan MADD.

The money raised through the cabaret will help the Estevan's non-kill shelter with medical bills and daily expenses, as well as some capital projects.

The Christmas hamper campaign is now underway for Oxbow area residents who may need it.
