WAWOTA - Congratulations to A+ Animal Rescue and Angie Werner who organized a Zombie Walk on Halloween. Not only was it entertaining for the 22 people who participated but it was also a fundraiser for the animal rescue.

When the rescue was looking for a fundraiser, a lady from Elkhorn suggested the Zombie Walk. This scary trip included zombies popping out along the route. These zombies also passed by the nursing home for their enjoyment. A total of $270 was earned and this will be used to help the many cats and kittens in the area that are abandoned.

Congratulations to Angie Down and Gordon Lucier, who were married in a Halloween-themed wedding on Oct. 30.

Pat Corkish from Athabasca, Alta., and his family, son, Chad and daughter Robynn Broish from Calgary spent last week with Saundra Corkish. They helped prepare for her auction sale at the Wawota Town Hall on Nov. 6.

Stan and Bev Niebergall Attended the funeral of Mac Grywacheski of Weekes, Sask. He was 80 years old and he played twilight baseball for the Hudson Bay team and often attended tournaments here in Wawota.

Happy birthday to Anita Cudmore, who celebrated her 80th birthday on Nov. 5.

The sale of Halloween posters realized $350 for UNICEF. The full amount collected was remitted to UNICEF, as I donated the paper and Darren Olson provided free printing.

Bev Niebergall visited with her aunt, Grace Holmes, at Indian Head recently. They enjoyed a nice lunch and a very nice visit.

Shirley Corkish travelled to Regina last weekend to visit Rick and Michelle Corkish and their family. She helped Rick celebrate his 50th birthday on Nov. 9.
