The City of Estevan has decided to give the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation a break on its taxes.

The Sherritt Coal peewee AA Bruins began their best-of-three league playoff series versus the Moose Jaw Warriors on the weekend, with both teams emerging with a win after the first two games. The Bruins took game one on the road 6-3.

Now that they are out of the starting gate, the Estevan Constituency New Democrats aren't wasting any time in launching their 2011 provincial campaign.

For one more year the Elecs fell short, and for one more year Weyburn has bragging rights. The finals of the 76th McLeod series started with the Estevan Elecs with a slight lead, very slight, at 129-128.

The midget A female Baxter Cougars are one game away from moving on to the provincial finals. Only the Regina Renegades stand in their way. Game one of their two-game, total-goals series left the Cougars up one point after winning a tight 4-3 game.

The Estevan Bruins are playing for their lives. The Bruins lost game two 5-4 in a tight match against the Yorkton Terriers on Monday night at the Civic Auditorium, and are now down two games heading into game three tonight back in Yorkton.

The search for the Estevan Bruins next head coach and general manager is looking promising.

They're still on the list of detachments requiring some additional personnel, but the head man at the Estevan detachment of the RCMP, isn't sure as to where they rank on that list.
