Update: Travel not recommended advisories lifted in Estevan area

The travel not recommended advisories have been lifted in Estevan.

ESTEVAN - Travel not recommended advisories have been lifted for highways in the Estevan area. 

According to the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure's Highway Hotline, ice has been the primary concern. The advisories were issued during the night and were lifted mid-morning. 

Highway 47 from the Handsworth Road to Highway 1 is closed. Travel is not recommended on some highways in the Moosomin and Wawota areas as well, including Highway 1 from Broadview to the Manitoba border. 

Other highways in the region are reported as covered or partially covered.

A freezing rain warning was in effect for the southeast on Saturday and Sunday.
