It’s the day before the big game at the Grey Cup Festival

Drone show is a go, as crowds pile in to the festival grounds Saturday.

REGINA - The Grey Cup Festival was jam-packed on Saturday on the day before the Grey Cup game.

The family activities as well as the team party rooms were going full blast as Regina prepares for the big game Sunday between the Toronto Argonauts and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Temperatures had noticeably improved on Saturday and were to warm up considerably Sunday to close to zero degrees for the game.

Weather conditions had been an issue for the first days of the festival as it had scuttled the NexGen Energy Drone Show, but there was good news to report Saturday.

The drone show will go as scheduled on Saturday evening. Shows are set at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., with the best viewing experience near Confederation Park.

Saturday was also scheduled to be the culminating day for the Path to Glory Esports tournament at Brandt Centre, with contestants competing for a $50,000 prize pool for the game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
