The Macklin and District Fire/Rescue Department received an early Christmas gift. Through the Synergy Credit Union – Synergy Shares program, a $10,000 cheque was presented to MFD. The funds will be used towards this division of the community's protective services tool replacement project.
With the Synergy Shares program, a percentage of the company’s pre-tax profits each year are returned to a local community organization through this program. Non profits and community groups are welcome to apply through the application process outlined on the website synergycu.ca
The MFD is very grateful for this opportunity to help with improvements for their department, which in turns benefits the community as their fire department will have ample and up-to-date equipment to handle whatever calls come when the alarm bell rings.
