After several days off, the pucks will finally be back on the ice for the North Stars in the SJHL.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - For the first time in over two weeks, the Battlefords North Stars are set to play a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League game tonight.

The North Stars take on the Humboldt Broncos at 7:30 p.m. in Humboldt Tuesday.

It is the first game the North Stars are playing since Jan. 15, when they beat the Kindersley Klippers 5-4 in overtime on a goal by Holden Doell.

Since then, five games have been postponed, including three contests during a five-day pause of activities by the North Stars due to COVID-19 protocols that began Jan. 20. Two other games were postponed due to other teams’ pauses, the most recent being the game in Kindersley Jan. 29.

The lineup for tonight’s game has been released. It shows goaltender Michael Harroch back in the North Stars lineup, after a lengthy period out due to injury. Newly-reacquired goaltender Austin Schwab is also in the lineup tonight.

The North Stars are scheduled to be back home Feb. 4 for their first home game since Jan. 15, against the Melfort Mustangs. They take on La Ronge at home Saturday night.
