The North Stars aren’t playing, again, due to COVID-19 protocols in the SJHL.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - The Battlefords North Stars, who recently went on a five-day pause due to COVID-19 protocols, are not going to be back in action Saturday night after all.

Their scheduled game in Kindersley versus the Klippers had been postponed. It is due this time to a pause by the Klippers team for COVID-19 protocols.

This is the fifth North Stars game in a row that has been postponed. They are scheduled to play Humboldt next Tuesday on the road. There is no word yet on when the postponed games will be made up.

In other news, the North Stars have announced college commitments this week by two of their veteran players.

It was announced the team’s Captain, Ryland McNinch, has committed to Red Deer College for 2022.

McNinch has 13 goals and 16 assists for the North Stars. Red Deer College confirmed the signing on Twitter this week.

It was also announced that defenceman Sam Witt has committed to Albertus Magnus College of Division 3 for the 2022-23 season.
