SASKATOON - A youth is facing a weapons charge following a complaint in Saskatoon.
On Aug. 7, at approximately 8 p.m. police were called to the intersection of Lorne Avenue and Taylor Street for a weapons complaint. Initial information stated two males were at the intersection and one was waving a firearm around.
When they arrived, officers located two males matching the description of the suspects. Officers noticed what appeared to be a firearm in one of the male’s possession; he was asked to drop it before being arrested. Upon further investigation it was found to be an imitation firearm.
As a result, a 13-year-old male youth is facing charges relating to possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.
