Pearl Thomas of Unity has won $100,000.

UNITY — Pearl Thomas thought the day couldn’t get any better when she scanned her Lotto Max ticket on the self-checker at a local store and believed she won $10,000.

When the winner returned home, she wanted to double check, so she went online and saw that the numbers for the Extra draw matched hers. The prize, however, was 10 times what she thought she won.

She picked up her phone and scanned her ticket with the Lotto Spot! app. It was then she realized that she had won $100,000.

“I was extremely happy,” Thomas said. “I called my children crying! They thought something was wrong,” she laughed.

Thomas was filled with excitement when she claimed her prize. “This is life-changing! I’m never going to win that big again!” she said.

The happy winner doesn’t have plans for her windfall at this time.

The winner purchased her ticket from the Delta Co-op Marketplace on 130 2nd Ave. West in Unity.

Thomas won by matching the last six digits of the winning Extra number – 2260088 – which she added to her Lotto Max ticket for the March 15 draw.
