SASKATOON - Two men are facing charges after a man was robbed of his vehicle in Saskatoon.
At approximately 10 p.m. on Aug. 7, police were called to a parking lot in the 3500 block of 8th Street East for a report of a robbery.
When they arrived, officers learned that a 56-year-old man had been pulled from his vehicle in the parking lot by multiple men; they then stole his vehicle.
Using the Onstar system, police were able to track its location to where it was found parked in the 900 block of Central Avenue.
As officers moved into the area, the suspects attempted to flee in the vehicle; however, Onstar immediately disabled the vehicle as it began to accelerate. The suspects then fled on foot.
The vehicle continued to roll forward before striking three parked vehicles and coming to a stop.
Police then found the suspects and arrested them, following a brief search of the area.
As a result, two men, age 23 and 29, have been charged with robbery.
