NORTH BATTLEFORD - A youth has been injured as a result of a fight that escalated to shots fired.
On Aug. 26 at approximately 10:45 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received a call indicating there was a loud argument and that gunshots had been heard on the 900 block of 110th Street in North Battleford.
RCMP attended to the area and did not find anyone but were able to determine that a residence in the area was involved as the front window appeared to have several gunshot holes.
While the investigation went on, RCMP received a second call from the hospital indicating a 14-year-old male had shown up with a gunshot wound to the chest. RCMP attended and determine that this youth was involved in the incident.
The 14-year-old male was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital.
RCMP were able to determine that neighbouring occupants were arguing and the argument turned into a fight that resulted in shots being fired.
RCMP did arrest a 38-yea- old female and 20-year-old male that were believed to be involved in this incident.
RCMP say this was not a random attack and both parties knew each other.
RCMP are continuing their investigation with the help of the Municipal GIS and Gang Task Force Units.
