Hearing set in La Ronge for man charged with sexual assault, choking to overcome resistance

Corey Clarke faces charges for second-degree murder and for sexual assault and choking to overcome resistance

LA RONGE - A 33-year-old man who was brought back to Prince Albert from Nunavut to face second-degree murder charges has a preliminary hearing in La Ronge for sexual assault charges in a separate incident.

The hearing for Corey Clarke in La Ronge Provincial Court in October will determine if there is enough evidence for him to stand trial for sexual assault and choking to overcome resistance.

Clarke is also charged in connection with the death of 29-year-old Natasha Ross in Prince Albert in May. On those charges he appears next in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Sept. 13.

Clarke is accused of killing 29-year-old Ross whose body was found at about 6 a.m. May 24, 2021, in Prince Albert after police received a report that there was a deceased woman in a residence in the 2900 block of 4 Avenue West.

Clarke was remanded in custody at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre.

The charges against Clarke haven’t been proven in court.
