Sandy Bay youth facing charges following stabbing attack in Saskatoon

Officers discovered a 17-year-old male youth was suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing.

SASKATOON - A 17-year-old youth from Sandy Bay is facing charges following a stabbing attack in Saskatoon.

At approximately 6:40 a.m. on Sept. 8, police responded to call about an injured person in the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive North.

Upon arrival, officers learned a 17-year-old male youth was suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing, and was being treated by paramedics on the scene. He was transported to hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

After investigating, officers believe the victim and suspect were known to each other.

Officers later located and arrested the suspect, another 17-year-old male youth.

As a result, the suspect is facing charges relating to assault, and possession of a weapon.
