Preliminary hearing set in La Ronge court for man charged with attempted murder

LA RONGE -  A preliminary hearing has been set for a 20-year-old Lac La Ronge Indian Band man charged with attempted murder.

The hearing for Quintin Ross will be held on April 7 in La Ronge Provincial Court.

Ross was arrested in December 2021 when La Ronge RCMP were called to a report of a serious assault at a home in Hall Lake.

The police investigation determined that a man went to the home and threatened the residents and assaulted one person, who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Ross was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

The charges against Ross haven’t been proven in court.
