North Battleford’s Tim Hortons, Unity’s A&W hit by COVID fines

NORTH BATTLEFORD - The Saskatchewan Health Authority’s public health inspectors have issued a number of fines this past week and some northwest area businesses are on the receiving end.

According to their latest news release, two corporate fines of $14,000 each were issued in North Battleford to two separate Tim Hortons locations in the city, for failure to screen for proof of vaccination or a negative test. 

Also, two corporate fines of $14,000 each were issued to A&W and Bluez on Second, both in Unity, for failure to screen for proof of vaccination or a negative test. In addition, an individual ticket of $2,800 was issued for failure to mask.

Other fines of $2,800 each were issued to three individuals at Oasis Roadhouse in Pangman for failure to mask; a corporate fine of $14,000 to Chicken Chef in Esterhazy for failure to screen for proof of vax or negative test; and $2,800 to an individual in Outlook regarding a complaint from Sept. 20. 

The names of the individuals who have received fines are not being disclosed. The province is emphasizing that public health orders will be enforced.
