NORTH BATTLEFORD - The sentencing in connection to the March 8, 2020 beating death of Sequin Mooswa in North Battleford has been adjourned to April 1.

Keenan Mirasty has already plead guilty to manslaughter in connection to that incident, which took place at Mooswa's apartment on St. Laurent Drive in North Battleford.

A sentencing hearing has taken place for Mirasty at North Battleford Provincial Court before Judge Dan O'Hanlon.

The hearing wrapped up on Friday, March 11, with more witness testimony. Matters have now been adjourned to April 1, again in North Battleford, at which time Judge O'Hanlon is expected to make a determination on the admissibility of the evidence that had been presented in the hearing.

Final arguments from counsel are not expected to happen until after that ruling comes down.

Mirasty, who is in custody, has been in attendance in person at the sentencing hearing this week in North Battleford.
