Man facing murder charge has upcoming trial on assault charge

River Miller faces charges in three separate incidents

LA RONGE – A man facing a first-degree murder charge has an upcoming trial on an assault and mischief charge in a separate incident.

The trial for 22-year-old River Miller is scheduled for Aug. 4 in La Ronge Provincial Court.

In addition, Miller appears in court July 25 to speak to murder and assault charges in connection to the death of 32-year-old Eric Bouchard.

Kurt Ratt, 20, is also charged with first-degree murder and assault in Bouchard’s death and appears in court July 25 as well.

In another incident, Miller faces additional charges of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a weapon, an imitation of a weapon, a prohibited device or any ammunition or prohibited ammunition for a purpose dangerous to the public peace or for the purpose of committing an offence.

Police found an injured Bouchard on May 17 outside a home at Bells Point in La Ronge. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The charges against Miller and Ratt haven’t been tested in court.
