SASKATOON - A man is facing a number of charges after a CO2 firearm was discharged in Saskatoon.
On Sept. 8 at approximately 11:50 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of Riel Crescent for a weapons complaint. Further information stated someone had been shot at, and the suspect had driven away.
It is believed the victim and suspect were known to each other.
While responding, officers received a description of the vehicle and licence plate. They later noticed the vehicle on Clarence Avenue and Taylor Street East. Officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop, and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
After searching the suspect's vehicle, police found a CO2 firearm, along with a can of bear spray, and open alcohol.
As a result, a 38-year-old man is facing charges relating to possession of a weapon, assault, mischief, impaired driving, and failure to comply with a peace officer's demand without reasonable excuse.
