LA LOCHE - On Feb. 9, La Loche RCMP raided a residence in La Loche where they seized drugs and cash, and arrested three people.
Officers located and seized approximately 59.3 grams of suspected crack cocaine, approximately 1 mg methadone, a quantity of prescription drugs, and a quantity of Canadian currency.
The police investigation determined some of the prescription drugs seized were not prescribed to individuals at the residence where the search warrant was executed.
Three people were arrested without incident at the residence. Vernon Laprise, 51, Jayda Boucher-Moise, 24, and Stacy Lemaigre, 24, all from the La Loche area were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, and possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime.
Laprise was additionally charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking opioids other than heroin.
All three will appear in La Loche court March 21.
Police say their investigation is ongoing.
