On April 18, 2021, just before 5 a.m. the Spritwood RCMP Detachment received a call of a house fire on Pelican Lake First Nation.
Police officers attended and found the residence was completely destroyed and were advised there may have been a man in the residence. Police searched and found a body of a deceased male located in the residence.
The RCMP Forensics team, the Provincial Fire Commissioners Office, and the Coroners office investigated the death.
It was determined that there was nothing suspicious at this time about the fire or the unfortunate death of the home owner at this time. No one else was in the residence at this time. The family has been notified.
