Tammy Ramsay is a new author. Her first book is published On the Wings of An Eagle. She hosted a book signing at the Battlefords and District Co-op Mall oct. 30. Her books are available in North Battleford and Saskatoon.

Maidstone Brownies invited Paynton artists Mariann Taubensee and Ellery Russell to their Friday Nov. 5 meeting for a lesson in the arts. Mariann brought along several types of art all made from items most people would throw away.

The Community Youth Choir's first recital of the season is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 14 at Logie Hall in the Third Avenue United Church.

The Battlefords Music Teachers Association is hosting a performance by the well-known Meota Hobby Band. The Meota Hobby Band performance, Sunday, Nov. 21 at Chapel Gallery at 3 p.m.

An amazing demonstration of the domino effect, with the entire school-body watching in the bleachers, occurred in John Paul II Collegiate gym at 9 a.m. Nov. 1. This large scale domino effect was comprised solely of boxes of mac 'n' cheese.

Oct. 26 and 27, a golden opportunity was given to parents of attending students of John Paul II Collegiate. From 6 to 9 p.m.

It was an artistic weekend in the Battlefords as arts council members and other delegates came together from across the province for Showcase 2010.
