Residents celebrate 65th anniversary

Well, February may be the shortest month but it seemed to me to be the coldest. I guess it was those windy days. Anyway, it's often said, if you live in Saskatchewan our topic of conversation tends to be around the weather, good or bad.

The first Friday in March is special around the world. The annual World Day of Prayer reaches across the lines of denominations and into more than 170 countries. This year the program was prepared by the women of Chile.

Sunday was a beautiful, sunny day. There was no wind and the temperature rose to -12 C. It looked more as though spring might just be around the corner. Our best wishes to Jason Silvester, who has recently been spending some time in the hospital.

Card tournament planned

The Maidstone Legion Ladies' Auxiliary No. 142 met March 1 for their monthly meeting. Nine members braved the cold weather to attend. Plans were made to cater to the ratepayers' supper April 8. The Feb.

The King drops by to entertain

"Pretty" is the word that best describes the first floor of our building. Red, pink and white Valentine decorations provided a cheerful setting for our party held Feb. 12. Fun prevailed over our choice of pool or shuffleboard mini-tournaments.

Notes from Pine Island Apartments

Dale and Debbie Kennedy of Lloydminster visited their mom, Theresa Kennedy. They were at the karaoke at the Legion clubroom. They stayed over and all had breakfast Sunday morning with Sam and Barb Kennedy.

Here we are once again. Seems like there isn't that much going on in our little community. The Three Stars are showing they are once again a team to be reckoned with as they head into the finals.
