It was a beautiful weekend and newcomers to Humboldt enjoyed a day out learning about their new community. A New Resident's Social was held on October 16 at the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery.

Approximately 80 rural high school students interested in careers in the health field took over classrooms at St. Peter's College in Muenster on October 10.

Though the cultural gap may be a wide one, a man who grew up in Humboldt, Saskatchewan is making a difference in the lives of youth in Los Angeles, California.

For the first time this season, the Humboldt Broncos lost a game in front of a home-town crowd. But by no means did they make it easy for their opponents.

If you just look at the score, it wasn't a pretty game, but the coach is still happy with his players. The Lakeside Bombers hosted the Hudson Bay Riders in a six-man football game in Watson on October 15.

They were only a point and a half apart in the regular season and it came down to two points in the final. The Three Lakes Avengers were in Muenster on October 5 to challenge the Cougars for the junior boys' soccer league title.

"Safety first" was the lesson taught to children at a Farm Safety Day at Muenster School October 6.

The decision to cut health services in Watson has been overturned for now.

The two teams were closely matched all season and the final was no exception. The Three Lakes Avengers hosted the Muenster Cougars in a Horizon School Division Junior Girls' Soccer League final on October 4.
