HUMBOLDT — Construction has wrapped up for the season on the Highway 5 corridor safety improvement project.

This multi-year highway improvement project is being completed in three phases from Saskatoon city limits to the junction of Highway 2.

The current phase is scheduled to be completed in 2025. It includes work from 15 kilometres west of the south junction with Highway 2 to near Blucher Road as well as the realignment of the St. Denis Access.

Over the winter months, Highway 5 within the construction zone will be left with approximately one kilometres of a gravel surface including 3.5 kilometres of gravel shoulders and an eastbound passing lane. Speeds will be reduced from 60 km/hr to 80 km/hr to ensure it is safe to travel.
