Watermaster Irrigation Services Ltd. is recommended due to their comprehensive design layout, professionally engineered lighting solution and use of industry-recognized SportMaster surfacing systems.

NIPAWIN – The Town of Nipawin awarded Watermaster Irrigation Services Ltd. a contract amount not exceeding $335,000 for the new multi-sport court.

It was approved at the March 24 council meeting. Chelseas Corrigan, general manager for Leisure Services said, “We did a design-build RFP, companies that bid for the project were aware that the budget for the project was $335,000 and Watermaster came in at that amount.”

In Corrigan’s report to council, it said the evaluation of proposals considered the following key factors:

  • Compliance with RFP specifications (multi-sport court for tennis, basketball and pickleball)
  • Quality of surfacing and equipment
  • Lighting and fencing
  • Inclusivity, accessibility, and community amenities
  • Long-term maintenance and durability.

Corrigan said construction is to begin as soon as possible. “The project must be complete by August 15, 2025. We hope it will be completed sooner but that will be weather dependent.”

The Town of Nipawin had budgeted for the multi-sport court in 2024, however, with timelines and workload, it wasn’t able to be completed until this year.

“We are excited to have this new amenity in Central Park between the pool and skatepark. It is going to be a great addition to the community, and we can’t wait to see residents and visitors utilize it.”
