HUDSON BAY - Second update, Dec. 12, 4:22 p.m.: RCMP are reporting they are investigating a fatal vehicle collision near Hudson Bay and the woman's death involved.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is now investigating this motor vehicle incident and the woman’s death, as initial investigation determined suspicious circumstances exist.
Update, Dec. 6, 2024, 4:18 p.m.: A woman has been declared deceased following a collision near Hudson Bay, Thursday.
On Dec. 5 at approximately 5:40 a.m., Hudson Bay RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle incident.
Investigation determined a vehicle left Highway 9 and came to rest at the bottom of an embankment. A woman was located nearby and was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 50-year-old from Hudson Bay. Her family has been notified. A man also received medical care for injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
Highway 9 was closed during the initial investigation and has since re-opened. Saskatchewan RCMP continues to investigate this incident.

Hudson Bay RCMP are currently on the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Highway 9, approximately five kilometers south of Hudson Bay.
