NORTHEAST – Chris Beaudry, newly elected MLA for the Wadena-Kelvington constituency is learning his new role.

“I'm currently studying about the history of private member bills. I'm hoping to better understand the best way to get a private member bill passed and hopefully have something valuable to put forward in the spring session.”

Beaudry said he hopes to see folks from every community in the constituency of Kelvington-Wadena over the summer of 2025. When asked how his first few months have been, he said, “The fall sitting was interesting. When people would describe to an individual what an MLA does, it never painted an accurate picture. It was much different than I expected. I've found it to be a nice routine and I'm feeling a lot more comfortable in this new role.”

Beaudry is currently serving on the Human Services Committee, Crown and Central Agencies.

Beaudry said, “The Christmas season is such a valuable time of the year. The solstice, Christmas, and New Year's present so many opportunities to be with loved ones and friends. The longest night of the year, a season of growth, when light returns to the earth. The days will soon lengthen, grow brighter and life will rise up again. It’s said that the sun dies and is reborn on each Winter Solstice, and so all endings and beginnings are blessed at this time. May all have a blessed holiday season and have continued growth into the new year.”
