Students' antics light up the stage

Happy New Year everyone! Sorry for no news over the Christmas break, but I decided to take the two weeks off along with the school kids. There wasn't a lot to report after the Christmas concerts.

Water classification hampers village growth

The village of Ruddell can be added to the list of Saskatchewan communities in need of a potable water system, according to former mayor Byron Olsen. The village gets its water from a dugout. The water system is classified as hygienic.

Maidstone 4-H meeting

Maidstone Gully Multiple 4-H Club held their third general meeting Dec. 6. A Christmas party, held at Milleton Hall Dec. 11, was discussed. Hannah Bedwell did a Cloverbud demonstration. She showed how she baked cookies.

Sports Calendar Jan.7 to 15

JANUARY 7 Battlefords North Stars host the Melville Millionaires for the final time this season in SJHL action. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Centre. JANUARY 7 Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League has Battleford scheduled to play in Maymont.

With a variety of bands, choirs and talented performers, the Battlefords have a rich variety of musical offerings. And it seems this atmosphere will continue, as young, developing musicians excel in their music instruction.
