North Battleford will be hosting the world premiere of a unique French-language play Feb. 23. The play called La Maculee/sTain will be performing at 8 p.m. at North Battleford Comprehensive High School.

City introduces traffic bylaw changes

North Battleford city council is moving ahead with plans to hike fines for traffic violations. Council voted Feb. 15 to pass first and second reading to bylaw changes that would increase a number of fines as part of its Traffic Bylaw.

Out of scope salaries to go up four per cent

Salaries for out of scope City of North Battleford employees are set to increase by four per cent this year. That increase was approved by resolution at a Feb. 14 city council meeting. Out of scope salaries include those for mayor and council.

WaterMark awarded wells engineering contract

WaterMark Consulting Ltd. has been awarded the contract for engineering services for the drilling and development of three new groundwater wells at the groundwater treatment plant in North Battleford.

Application approved for bulk oil retail location

North Battleford city council has approved the application of Siemens Transport Ltd. for a bulk oil retail outlet and office at 2741 - 99th St. The application was approved Feb.

Operating costs estimates coming

Estimates about what it will cost to operate the Credit Union CUPlex are expected to be ready, soon. Parks Director Keith Anderson told council Feb. 15 he expects to have an operating budget for the CUPlex ready in about three weeks.

Safer Communities Task Force meets

The task force set up by mayor Ian Hamilton to promote a safer community has met for the first time and more meetings are to come. Hamilton told council that the Safer Communities Task Force has come off a well-attended initial meeting.

The Battlefords Kinsmen Orcas swim team capped off a successful meet at A provincials in Prince Albert Feb. 4 to 6 by winning the small team title with a point total of 185.
