Update: Police report suspect related to Little Pine shooting has been found

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

LITTLE PINE FIRST NATION - Update: Police are reporting the suspect they were looking for related to a shooting on Little Pine First Nation has been found and arrested.

On Sept. 3, Cut Knife RCMP located and arrested Bradley Kahmahkotayo on Little Pine.

Kahmahkotayo was wanted by Cut Knife RCMP for charges including aggravated assault and multiple weapons-related charges.

He is scheduled to appear in court in North Battleford on Sept. 4.

Unity RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Meadow Lake Police Dog Services assisted in this investigation.

Original post: Cut Knife RCMP are asking the public to report sightings of a man facing charges following a shooting. 

On Aug. 18 at approximately 3:30 a.m., Cut Knife RCMP received a report of a shooting on Little Pine First Nation.

Officers immediately responded. Investigation determined a man approached another male outside of a home and discharged a firearm, striking him. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

The suspect fled in a vehicle and struck another vehicle while doing so.

As a result of continued investigation, 33-year-old Bradley Kahmahkotayo, from Little Pine First Nation, is charged with: aggravated assault; uttering threats; discharge firearm with intent; careless use of a firearm; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle; assault with weapon; dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; and fail to comply with undertaking.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Cut Knife RCMP are working to locate him.

Investigators ask the public to report all sightings of Kahmahkotayo, and information on his whereabouts.

Kahmahkotayo is described as 5'11" and 240 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. His neck is tattooed, and he has a small tattoo under one of his eyes. 

He may be in the Little Pine or Lloydminster areas, but this can’t be confirmed.
